Glass Pipes & Hand Pieces
Hand-Blown & ArtisticHand-blown pipes with distinctive color work, artistic detailing, and functional design. Spoon pipes, sherlocks, steamrollers, chillums, one-hitters, bubblers, and dugouts — from quick everyday pieces to worked glass that belongs in a collection. Each piece selected individually.
Waterpipes & Bongs
Filtration & FunctionBorosilicate waterpipes from functional daily drivers to show-stopping centerpieces. Scientific glass and heady pieces, multiple percolator styles, varied heights — selected for genuine design integrity rather than volume wholesale production.
Dab Rigs
Concentrate-OptimizedMini rigs, micro rigs, and recyclers built for concentrate use — smaller chambers preserve terpene flavor that excess water filtration would strip away. Full dab setup accessories in stock: bangers, terp pearls, carb caps, torches, and more.
Studenglass
Studenglass gravity infusers are a category of their own — rotating borosilicate glass chambers that use gravity-fed water flow to generate continuous pressure and consistent delivery. Considerably more elevated than a traditional gravity bong, and one of the more gifted premium pieces in the smoke shop world. We carry them in-store.

We Actually Use This StuffHow to Choose, Use, and Maintain
Waterpipe vs dab rig. Conduction vs convection. How to actually keep glass clean. What to look for in a 510 battery. The things worth knowing before you buy.
Built for Different Materials
The core difference is chamber size and airflow path. Waterpipes use more water volume and larger chambers because combusted herb benefits from more filtration and cooling. Dab rigs intentionally use less water and smaller chambers — concentrates are vaporized at lower temperatures, and excess water filtration strips terpene flavor before it reaches you.
You can technically use either for either purpose, but you'll get better results using the right tool. A dab rig used for dry herb will feel harsh and restrictive. A waterpipe used for concentrates will mute flavor significantly. If you're unsure what you need, our staff can walk you through it in about two minutes.
Glass types: Borosilicate is the standard — heat-resistant and durable. Scientific glass refers to clear functional pieces built for airflow. Heady glass is artist-made with worked color, fumed glass, dichroic, wig-wag, millie marbles, and implosion techniques. We carry both, with an emphasis on heady and worked pieces sourced from artists rather than volume distributors.
Different concentrate types vaporize differently — knowing what you're working with helps you dial in temperature and get the most out of your rig and banger.
Glass performs and tastes better when it's clean. Resin buildup affects airflow, flavor, and — for waterpipes — creates bacterial growth in stagnant water. A simple routine keeps pieces performing as intended.
Curated, Not Volume-Bought
Most glass in the region comes from the same wholesale channels — the same mass-produced pieces showing up at every shop within 100 miles. We specifically avoid that inventory. Our glass section is built around pieces with individual character: hand-blown color work, unusual forms, artistic execution that makes each piece distinct. We'd rather carry fewer pieces that are genuinely interesting than a wall of interchangeable product.
The result is that our customers regularly tell us they've never seen glass like ours anywhere in the area. That's intentional, and it's what we're committed to maintaining. If you're looking for a piece with actual personality, it's worth coming in to see what we have.
Questions We Answer Every Day
Glass care, vaporizer selection, accessories, and what sets our inventory apart — answered directly.
Terp pearls — also called terp beads or terp balls — are small spheres, typically quartz or ruby, placed inside a quartz banger before you load concentrate. As you draw, airflow spins them around the bottom of the banger, distributing heat evenly across the concentrate instead of letting it pool in one spot. The result is more complete vaporization at lower temperatures, which means better terpene flavor and less waste.
To use them effectively you need a carb cap that creates a seal and channels airflow — a directional cap or spinner cap works best. Flat top bangers pair well with bubble caps or directional caps; terp slurpers have their own cap design that fits the slurper trough. We carry quartz pearls, ruby pearls, directional carb caps, spinner caps, and bubble caps in store. Bring in your banger if you're not sure what pairs with it.
A terp slurper is a style of quartz banger with a flat dish at the bottom connected to a vertical tube that extends up into the main bucket. When you load concentrate onto the bottom dish and draw, the slurper action pulls material up through the tube and vaporizes it through the heated section. Optimized for full vaporization of larger loads without pooling or waste.
Terp slurpers pair specifically with slurper-style carb caps and work well with terp pearls or terp pills sitting in the trough at the bottom. More technical than a standard flat top banger, but the efficiency at low temperatures is noticeably better for high-quality concentrates like live rosin and sauce. We carry terp slurper bangers and the accessories that go with them.
All standard concentrate forms work with a quartz banger setup. Quick breakdown by type:
- Wax, budder & badder — soft, easy to handle, forgiving at mid-range temps (450–550°F). Good entry point
- Shatter & crumble — harder, handles higher temps. Less terpene-forward, so precision matters less
- Live resin & live rosin — high-terpene extracts that reward low-temp dabbing (400–480°F). Terp pearls make a real difference here
- Rosin — solventless, pressed from flower or hash. Best at low temps with cold-start method. Terp slurper setup handles it well
- Sauce — very liquid, very terpene-heavy. Needs a good carb cap seal. Low temp, directional cap recommended
- Diamonds — crystalline THCA, often sold with sauce. Needs higher temp to fully vaporize the crystal structure
- Full-melt hash & bubble hash — solventless, fully vaporizes clean. Cold-start or low temp with a seasoned banger
If you're working with live rosin or high-terpene products and want the right setup, our staff can walk you through it in a few minutes.
Our selection covers most common percolator styles — specific pieces change as inventory turns, but here's what each type does:
- Showerhead perc — disc with multiple slits radiating outward. Good diffusion, moderate drag. Reliable and common
- Honeycomb perc — flat disc with dozens of small holes. High diffusion, relatively low drag. Very popular
- Tree perc — multiple arms extending downward with slits at the base. Smooth draw, more filtration — better for dry herb than concentrates
- Inline perc — horizontal tube with slits along the bottom. Even diffusion, low resistance. Often paired with a second perc above
- Turbine / cyclone perc — angled slits spin water visually. Functions as splash guard and secondary filter
- Matrix perc — cylindrical grid with horizontal and vertical slits. High surface area, thorough diffusion, smooth draw
Come in and we'll show you what's in stock and let you feel the draw. It's easier to understand in person.
Scientific glass refers to clear borosilicate pieces built primarily for function — straight tubes, beakers, and rigs with engineered percolators. Consistent draw, easy to clean, built for performance and repeatability.
Heady glass is artist-made work where the visual element is as important as the function. Techniques include fumed glass (silver and gold fume creates color-shifting iridescent effects), worked color glass, dichroic, wig-wag patterns, millie marbles, implosion marbles, and inside-out techniques. No two heady pieces are the same — they're individually crafted, often signed, and built to be both functional and collectible.
We carry both, but the emphasis at Masterpiece is heady and worked pieces sourced from artists — not the same mass-produced scientific glass you'll find at every shop within 100 miles. If a piece with genuine character is what you're looking for, come in and see what we have.
Yes — we carry dab torches and butane. A torch is the standard tool for traditional banger setups: heat the quartz banger, let it cool to temp, load your concentrate, cap it, and draw. If you want to skip the torch entirely, Puffco's Peak and Peak Pro heat electronically to an app-set temperature — consistent every time, no torching. Both setups have their advantages. Ask our staff which makes more sense for how you like to dab.
A recycler is a style of water pipe where water continuously cycles between two chambers during your draw. The first chamber percolates the smoke or vapor, water feeds into a second chamber, then drains back into the first — looping throughout the entire draw. This keeps water moving through the piece continuously rather than sitting static.
For dab rigs specifically, the recycling action provides additional cooling and filtration without needing a large chamber — so you preserve more terpene flavor than a full-size waterpipe would allow. Recyclers are particularly popular for concentrate use. Come in or give us a call to see what we have in stock.
Waterpipes are designed for dry herb combustion — larger chambers, more water volume, and bigger bowls that accommodate loose material. Dab rigs are purpose-built for concentrates: smaller chambers, less water, and a banger or nail instead of a bowl. The reduced water filtration in a dab rig is intentional — concentrates vaporize at lower temperatures and the flavor compounds (terpenes) are stripped away by excess filtration. Using a waterpipe for concentrates mutes the flavor significantly; using a dab rig for dry herb feels harsh and restrictive. The right tool makes a real difference.
For glass pipes: apply 420 Cleaner or Resin Blaster, let it soak for a few minutes, use pipe cleaners to work tight areas, then rinse thoroughly with warm water. For heavy buildup, isopropyl alcohol with coarse salt in a sealed bag works well — shake and agitate for 60 seconds.
For waterpipes: change the water every day. Stagnant water accumulates bacteria quickly and noticeably degrades flavor. Deep clean weekly using the same method — plug the openings, add cleaning solution and salt, shake, rinse well. Downstems and percolator arms need pipe cleaners to get residue out of tight spaces. Dry completely before storing.
Depends on what you're vaporizing:
- Dry herb: PAX Mini is the most approachable starting point — simple, reliable, and well-built. PAX 3 is worth the upgrade for daily users who want temperature control
- Concentrates: Yocan pens offer a low-cost, easy entry. Puffco is the right move if you want a proper e-rig experience and plan to use it regularly
- Cartridges: Any variable-voltage 510 battery works. Vessel is the best-built option if you want something that will last
Our staff can walk you through specifics based on how often you'll use it, what you're vaporizing, and how much you want to spend. That conversation takes about two minutes.
We source from artists and specialty manufacturers rather than high-volume wholesale channels. Most shops in the region pull from the same distributors — the same mass-produced pieces you'll see duplicated everywhere. We deliberately avoid that inventory. Our glass section is built around pieces with actual character: hand-blown color work, artistic execution, unusual forms. Each piece is selected individually. We'd rather carry fewer pieces that are genuinely interesting than a wall of interchangeable product. Customers regularly tell us they've never seen glass like ours in the area — that's what we're going for.
Puffco is the category leader in electronic dab rigs for a reason. The build quality, atomizer design, and temperature precision are meaningfully better than budget alternatives — not marginally. Here's how the lineup breaks down:
- Puffco Peak — the original e-rig. Four heat settings, ceramic bowl atomizer, glass water attachment included. Reliable daily driver and the right entry point into the ecosystem
- Puffco Peak Pro — app-controlled temperature by exact degree, Real-Time Temp display on the device, compatible with 3D Chamber and XL Chamber upgrades. What daily concentrate users should be using
- Puffco Proxy — modular design that drops into any standard waterpipe joint or works as a standalone pipe-style device. Best option if you already have quality glass you want to keep using
- 3D Chamber (Peak Pro upgrade) — 360-degree heat distribution replaces the standard bowl. Significantly better terpene expression at lower temperatures, especially for rosin, live resin, and full-melt. The first upgrade we recommend for Peak Pro owners
We stock replacement atomizers, chambers, and accessories locally — so if you need a new chamber or carb cap you don't have to wait for shipping. Our staff uses Puffco products and can answer setup, temperature, and care questions in-store.
Yocan and Lookah devices are considerably less expensive and perfectly functional for occasional use or someone new to concentrates. For daily users, Puffco is the right tool. Come in and we'll help you figure out which makes sense for how you use it.
Yes — we carry Studenglass in store. Studenglass makes gravity infusers: rotating borosilicate glass chambers that use gravity-fed water displacement to generate continuous pressure and consistent, smooth delivery. The mechanics are similar in principle to a gravity bong, but the execution is in a different category — thick glass, anodized aluminum hardware, and a design that actually looks good sitting out.
The 360-degree rotating design means you don't have to relight — you rotate the chamber, gravity does the work, and you get a slow, even draw. Compatible with dry herb, concentrates, and aromatics depending on attachment.
Studenglass is one of the more popular gifting pieces we carry — premium packaging and a product that's recognizable in the enthusiast space. It's also a genuine upgrade for daily users who want something more refined than a traditional piece. Come in and take a look — it's the kind of product that makes more sense once you see it in person.
We carry RAW, Bluum, King Palm, and Zig-Zag. The right choice depends on preference:
- RAW — natural, unbleached hemp paper. Slow burn, minimal flavor impact, widely considered the standard for a reason. Available in 1¼, King Size, and pre-rolled cones
- King Palm — natural corn husk filter with a real palm leaf wrap. Distinct experience, burns slowly, no tobacco or tobacco flavor
- Bluum — premium slow-burn papers with consistent, even combustion
- Zig-Zag — a reliable classic in multiple sizes
If you're not sure, RAW is the safe starting point. Ask staff if you want a recommendation based on how you roll and what you're rolling.
Yes — we stock downstems, bowls, bangers, carb caps, and dab tools in the most common joint sizes (10mm, 14mm, 18mm) and angles (45° and 90°). If we don't have the exact part for your piece, we can usually identify a compatible alternative. Bring the piece in or call us with the joint size and we can tell you what we have available.
Masterpiece Alternatives at 138 W. Main Street, Suite E in downtown Perham carries one-of-a-kind glass pipes, waterpipes, and dab rigs not available elsewhere in the Lakes Area.
